What happened at Cana two thousand years ago, happens in reality at every wedding feast. It is the presence of the Lord, who reveals Himself and the gift of His grace, that will render your marriage full and profoundly true… –Pope Francis, 2014
The Parish of Saints Joachim and Anne looks forward to helping you prepare for a marriage that is full and profoundly true.
Guidelines from the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis stipulate that weddings be held in the parish church of either the bride or the groom, so that they celebrate this Sacrament in the presence of their faith community. For this reason, we require that at least one member of the engaged couple be a registered and active member of our parish before we will reserve one of our three church locations for your wedding and for marriage preparation to begin.
Parish guidelines call for a twelve month program to complete the Sacrament of Marriage preparation process. This process includes completing a prenuptial questionnaire, attending a Living God’s Love marriage preparation retreat, participating in a FOCCUS pre-marriage inventory and mentoring program, and pastoral meetings with a priest or deacon.
