Welcome! To the Parish of Saints Joachim and Anne. We are delighted to have you join our parish family.
At the Parish of Saints Joachim and Anne, we know that we are all individual parts of the mystical body of Christ. Working together, we find great joy in doing God’s work here on earth. I invite and encourage you to join us as we pray, work and play together.
So, what does it mean to be a parish member? Membership in the Church is about belonging to God and to His people. To be considered an active, parishioners must be registered in the Parish for a sufficient period of time, attend Mass faithfully and support the parish using the envelope or EFT system.
The use of envelopes provides a record of Mass attendance which is the most important consideration. The obligation to attend Mass on Sunday and Holy Days of Obligation is a serious one. This is not merely a matter of Parish policy. Divine Law sets forth this expectation in the Third Commandment.
When someone wants a wedding, baptism or funeral at St. Joachim and Anne, we are often asked “what does it mean to be a parish member?” Parish membership is about involvement and commitment to your Catholic faith. This means regular attendance at the weekend liturgies to give thanks for God and to come together with our faith community for prayer. The Parish of Saints Joachim and Anne has numerous ministries filled with people serving the Lord. Everyone is encouraged to see a deeper understanding of what it means to use our time, talents and treasure by serving in these ministries. We strongly believe every new member brings a new gift to the parish, offering distinct talents to the body. Your own presence enriches us and the members of your household might bring to our parish., and how you might best share them with us to build up the Body of Christ.
If there is anything I can do to help you on your journey to grow closer to God, please do not hesitate to contact me.
